HEALTHY BREAKFAST /SNACK OPTION
HUNG CURD SANDWICH
This is a healthy, quick lunch box and snack recipe for children, though not only for children. Rather, it is also a great food option for adults. This sandwich is for those children whose veggies are consumed very much. Or children look at vegetables and make different mouths. the taste of curd sandwich is very good.
How to make Hung Curd Sandwich
Preparation time: 5-10 minutes
no cooking required
makes 2 sandwiches
4 slices of whole wheat bread
1/4 cup hung Curd (from 1 cup curd)
½ finely chopped onion
½ finely chopped tomato (remove seeds before chopping)
¼ finely chopped bell pepper
¼ grated carrot
1 green chilly chopped
1 tbsp finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
salt & black pepper to taste
¼ tsp oregano (optional)
ghee or olive oil or butter to grease the bread lightly.
How to make Hung curd
Hung curd is very easy to make. All you need to do is hang your fresh curd or dahi in a muslin cloth until all its water is drained out. And you are left with creamy textured curd which is very thick form. Alternatively, you can also use Greek curd instead of yogurt curd.
hanging the curd in a muslin cloth. Take all the chopped vegetables in a pan. Add hung curd to it. mix with salt and pepper. Grease bread slices lightly on one side. Apply a thick layer of hung curd mixture on bread. Grill in a sandwich maker or non-stick Tawa.
Serve hot with coriander chutney or tomato ketchup.
