  1. Protein – A good protein source is very important for several reasons. One should eat 156 grams of protein daily. There are plenty of options for a protein-rich diet such as eggs, nuts, lentils, cheese, seeds, etc. 
  2. Fruits – Fruits are a great source of minerals, water, and dietary fiber. You should eat at least 2 cups of fruit per day. You can add frozen fruits, and fresh, or dried fruits into your daily diet. 
  3. Vegetables – Rich in dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals, and other trace elements good for us. One should eat at least 2.5-3.5 cups of vegetables every day. You can eat spinach, green beans, radish, legumes, or any seasonal vegetables. 
  4. Grains – Grains are an important part of a balanced diet. There are wholesome options for grains such as quinoa, whole wheat, brown rice, cornmeal, oats, etc. The daily intake of grains is approx. 170 grams. 
  5. Fat/Oils – It is a myth that fats are not good and should be avoided. But it is not completely true. There are two types- saturated and unsaturated fat. One should add some unsaturated fat options like sunflower oil, olive oil, chia seeds, avocado, and fish. Nuts, seeds. And avoid saturated fats. The daily intake limit of unsaturated fat is 27 grams. 
  6. Dairy – At last, dairy also comes under essential nutrients and is a rich source of vitamin C. One should aim for adding one or two dairies to their daily diets such as buttermilk, yogurt, milk, curd, and cheese.
